Essential Functions:
1. Conducts marketing research, collection of market information such as steel suppliers, competitors, and potential customers.
2. Handles sales activities such as negotiation of orders in terms of price, allocation, and lead-time with customers and vendors.
3. Maintains and strengthens relationship with customers and vendors via regular written and verbal communication in order to achieve a sales budget.
4. Addresses and follows up on customer and vendor questions and concerns in a timely and proactive manner.
5. Troubleshoots and resolves day to day tasks and issues as they occur.
6. Works closely with the General Manager of the Division, Sales team, and Inside Sales team in order to meet sales goals while keeping customers happy.
7. Manages credit/inventory lines with new and existing customers and collecting AR in a timely basis.
8. Controls order-entry, outstanding orders, inventory, and delivery.
9. Coordinates logistics and processing for materials.
10. Manages quality issues among the customer, supplier, processor, and insurance company.
11. Seeks and develops new business opportunities.
12. Completes reports as required by the Division Manager.
13. Leads the department by assisting employees with help as needed, hosting regular meetings to increase communication, and reviews employee’s work for accuracy and efficiency and gives constructive feedback.
14. Oversees the Accounting Department, such as handling management of payroll, training, recruiting, safety, performance management, and any other employee matters with the assistance of Human Resources.
15. Performs other duties from time to time as assigned by the management of the department. Job duties may change at any time with or without notice
Skills and Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, or related field is required.
2. At least 5 years of sales experience required.
3. At least 2 years management and supervisory experienced required.
4. Metal trading or automotive sales experience preferred.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required.
6. Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
7. Proficient knowledge of ERP systems preferred.
